I was trying to find something snarky or witty to say, but what’s the point? Warner Bros./DC finally did it. No. Patty Jenkins did it. She made an action adventure superhero war film with charm that keeps you smiling instead of frowning the entire time. Wonder Woman gives hope and light to the dark and brooding DC Extended Universe.

The lingering question now is how responsible Zack Snyder is for DC Extended Universe failures so far. This movie puts it in the high 90% probability range. Although he still produced Wonder Woman and had some story credit, this movie is NOT his which is very refreshing. If Warner Bros. is all about giving one filmmaker complete control over a universe, the reigns should most definitely be given to Patty. It’s not hard to say that this movie basically remade Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger (with the Wonder Woman filmmakers even going so far as to say in an interview that they almost had the movie take place during World War II which is also Diana’s origin story in the comics), but you know what? It worked and it was better than Marvel’s Captain. I don’t care what Marvel fans will say. Wonder Woman was fun, charming, witty, adorable and had decent action scenes. We focus on Diana’s character development and ride along the adventure through Europe. Go see it in theaters with some popcorn. You won’t be disappointed.
