The Revenant is an epic contrast between a bleak but beautiful existence. The film is carried on the shoulders of Leonardo DiCaprio, playing real life frontiersman Hugh Glass, in what may be the performance that wins him the Oscar. The film is beautiful and you should see it.

I don’t know if I have ever seen a truly thrilling period piece. Not only is it beyond beautiful, but you can’t help but think you are in the 1800’s with these people. Everything felt so real! Coming out of the film, I said it was going to be best picture. I don’t think it will stand up to that now but I still believe it to be one of the most beautiful films I have ever seen.
