A notable cast, interesting source material and vibrant visuals give A Wrinkle in Time much potential. Unfortunately, the film contains too many glaring issue to be completely enjoyed. Blunders in acting, direction and writing severely upstage the flashes of quality buried within this muddled mess. The pacing & structure of this story are fast & sloppy, often leaving the viewers to pick up the pieces. Meanwhile, the performances from the cast are underwhelming (ranging from decent to bad), which only draws more attention to the movie’s other inferior qualities.

Often disorienting in unintentional ways, A Wrinkle in Time is a patchwork of conflicting ideas which results in feeling aimless. The scoring is more concerned with being hip than immersive, the story is a pile of parts and the casting is focused on appearances rather than execution. Some interesting attempts are made with visuals & effects but those are hardly worth the toll A Wrinkle in Time takes elsewhere. Squandered possibilities, A Wrinkle in Time is mostly a waste of time.
