Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’ sails are ridden with holes and so are the script, performances and direction. Something here was broken… If there is one word I could use to describe this sequel it would be contrived. Everything felt so forced and unauthentic it’s really jarring when compared to the initial trilogy. Is this film better than the fourth Pirates movie (OST), yes, absolutely. But unless Disney does an overhaul between its writers, directors and cast (very fast) this franchise is going to sink away into the depths of the ocean.
