I loved Hell or High Water! It was such a great blend of genres and time periods that still stayed consistent throughout. My favorite thing about this film was watching it unravel slowly and with each scene engrossing me more and more into these characters and different sub-plots. Don’t get me wrong, in no way does this film reinvent the wheel, it is not the most original film you will see this year. But that doesn’t change the fact that it is one of the best movies I’ve seen this year and I hope it gets the recognition it deserves throughout audiences and in awards season.  Is this something I think everyone will go to and see, probably not, it doesn’t draw that type of appeal. Do I believe that anyone who watches this film with a serious intent will be hooked right away until the very last scene, absolutely! And let me say, what an awesome final scene it is.
